The Logistics Specialist (LS) will be responsible for coordination and facilitation of all shipping and receiving functions at the Entertainment and Sports Arena; as well as coordinating and facilitating all vehicle movements at the Loading Dock, and any other roads, parking areas, and standing zones open to vehicle traffic, that directly impact operations at the Arena. The LS will oversee the daily operations of the loading dock; including assisting the Security Manager or his designee with all vehicle activity at the dock; loading/unloading of any parcel deliveries for the building and its occupants/tenants/clients. The LS will also implement processes and maintain all records of parcels shipped to and from the arena until delivery to the appropriate recipient; ensures that proper safety procedures are implemented; and responds to emergency calls during off hours; and reports all incidents/situations impacting dock operations. The LS will also be responsible for coordinating, planning and executing Event Day pedestrian and vehicle traffic control at the Entertainment and Sports Arena and designated parking areas; including, but not limited to, development and implementation of traffic plans in compliance with DC government traffic laws, directing traffic, controlling parking, and controlling drop-off lanes.  The Logistics Specialist will report to the Manager, Security Services or his/her designee.

Metropolitan Police Officers employed by Events DC to serve at its venues (i.e., Entertainment and Sports Arena, Walter E. Washington Convention Center, RFK Stadium, DC Armory, Carnegie Library at Mount Vernon Square, and St. Elizabeth Hospital Campus) report to the chain of command of the Security Director or Security Manager.  They primarily support Security Operations personnel (Security Services and/or Transportation Services) and deter criminal activity at Events DC venues.  This role applies to day-to-day exterior and interior venue operations.  Duties may include securing and monitoring street activities, to include taxi and shuttle operations, ensuring vehicle operators comply with the Transportation Operations and Parking Plan (TOPP) and applicable District of Columbia regulations.  He or she may be asked to use enforcement tools to ensure compliance with parking regulations.  The Metropolitan Police Officer may be required to assist the dock supervisor in ensuring the security of loading dock operations.  Metropolitan Police Officers respond to emergency situations as required and may be asked to take reports for incidents/situations.  Metropolitan Police Officers may be required to inspect permits issued to personnel and motorists, directing each to authorized locations.  Metropolitan Police Officers anticipate, prevent, and act to protect employees and customers against disorder, unsafe conditions, and/or criminal activity on venue property.  All Metropolitan Police Officers are required to carry and monitor a venue-issued communications device (i.e., two-way radio). Officers will always comply with applicable Metropolitan Police Department General Orders.

As Building Maintenance Mechanic Assistant, the incumbent works under the guidance of the supervisor and/or work leader.  The supervisor assigns work orally or through work orders, building plans, and blueprints.  Minimum direct supervision is received, and the incumbent determines the extent of repairs, modifications, and installations needed and exercises judgment in selecting the methods, techniques, and procedures to use in completing assignments.  The incumbent makes complete and difficult determinations of materials and methods to be employed.  The incumbent tests and makes needed adjustments to work.  The supervisor or higher-level mechanic gives advice on unusual problems.  A high degree of precision is required in all areas of work.  Guides for proper completion of assignments include work orders, oral instructions, blueprints, sketches, specifications, and accepted trade practices and standards.  Work is checked upon completion to see that it meets accepted trade standards and is completed in a timely manner.
