Summary of Position:

The LAET Technician will work with the LAET Operations Supervisors team to build, rebuild, and maintain LAET’s production line equipment. The primary function of this position is to build from schedules and work orders to satisfy customer demands. Additionally, this role will provide service support to our customers at their job site locations. The LAET Technician will support Liberty’s mission to continuously improve our operations for our field population and our clients through technological advances.

  • Demonstrated assembly and maintenance aptitude
  • Possesses good communication skills 
  • Ability to work independently, while in a team environment
  • Experience working under high pressure situations
  • Must be willing to regularly travel to customer locations
  • Strong mechanical experience preferred
  • Prior to working on production lines and schedules
  • Willing to work freely on all LAET production lines

Experience Tiers:

LAET Technician I:
  • 1 year of general assembly and disassembly experience
  • Forklift and crane safety certified
  • Follows directions from work orders, build sheets, and work on quality issues guides
  • Operates all wash bays and wash cabinets
  • Operates and care for pneumatic tooling
LAET Technician II:
  • 2 years of assembly experience
  • Willing to operate an acetylene torch
  • Ability to fully read production prints
  • Cross-trains in other manufacturing product lines within the business
  • Trains new employees on production lines
LAET Technician III:
  • 4 years of assembly experience and mentoring Tech I and II employees
  • Works directly with operational, engineering and safety leadership and communicate work and facility changes
  • Works on every production line as needed
  • Travels to Liberty districts and jobsites for service calls
  • Manages production areas for shop supply and work tool needs
  • Learns metal fabrication
Progression between levels is generally aligned to experience bands with consideration for demonstrated performance, system ownership, and overall impact.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Supports production-based needs of LAET. 
  • Provides a quality assembled product using LAET provided quality software.
  • Ensures daily production levels are reported to supervisor. 
  • Works with Lead Technician and Operations Supervisor on all safety and quality issues or concerns. 
  • Supports customer demands for service-based needs locally or field service support. 
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment in the job area.  
  • Supports all cross-training objectives required per job assignment in production.

Working Conditions/Environment:
  • Regularly operates in a highly safety-conscious environment, outdoor and indoor.
  • Regularly be exposed to cold, heat, dust, odors, oil, fumes, and noise.
  • Requires frequent bending, stooping, kneeling crouching, crawling, climbing, balancing, lifting, carrying, reaching, etc. with arms, hands, and fingers.
