Assignments include corporate kitchens, universities, catering partners, private clubs, and event venues throughout the region.

Due to continued growth in the San Diego market, we are expanding our back-of-house team and seeking dependable, experienced line cooks interested in consistent weekday morning work.

Position Summary
The Line Cook supports daily food production and service in professional kitchen environments, including corporate cafeterias, university dining facilities, and catered events. This is a flexible, on-call position ideal for culinary professionals who are comfortable working morning shifts, can step into a line or prep role quickly, and thrive in fast-paced kitchens.

Typical Shifts
Morning shifts, generally Monday through Friday, with start times as early as 6:00am. Shift length and schedule vary based on client needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute food preparation and line cooking duties according to kitchen standards and recipes

  • Assist with prep, cooking, plating, and service during breakfast and lunch periods

  • Support multiple stations as needed, including grill, sauté, cold prep, or pantry

  • Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary workstations throughout the shift

  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and temperature control guidelines at all times

  • Work efficiently within established timelines and production schedules

  • Collaborate with kitchen teams, chefs, and supervisors to support service flow

  • Assist with opening and closing duties, including stocking and light cleaning

  • Follow company policies, uniform standards, and safety procedures

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months of professional kitchen experience in a restaurant, catering, corporate dining, or institutional setting

  • Ability to step onto a line or assist with prep with minimal supervision

  • Weekday morning availability required

  • Familiarity with standard kitchen equipment and food preparation techniques

  • Food Handler Card required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire

  • Reliable transportation to travel to assignments within a 25-mile radius of Mission Valley

  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and teamwork skills

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for 6 to 10 hours per shift

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions

  • Ability to work in hot kitchen environments and occasionally outdoors

Work Environment

  • Professional kitchen and culinary team environments

  • Fast-paced service periods with structured production flow

  • Assignments issued through mobile scheduling; flexibility is essential

Compensation

  • Hourly pay rate: $21.00–$23.00 per hour, depending on experience

  • Weekly pay
