Due to continued growth in North County San Diego, we are expanding our front-of-house team and seeking experienced banquet servers comfortable working a variety of professional event environments.
Position SummaryThe Banquet Server supports event service including plated meals, buffets, receptions, and large-scale hospitality functions. This is a flexible, on-call hospitality staffing position best suited for individuals with prior banquet serving experience, strong tray carrying skills, and a professional service mindset. Assignments vary based on client demand and event schedules.
Typical ShiftsMost assignments occur evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Some daytime corporate events may also be available. Flexibility is essential.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform professional banquet service including plated meals, buffet service, receptions, and cocktail events• Carry oval trays safely and confidently during service• Set up and break down banquet tables, service stations, and event areas• Follow steps of service and client-specific event instructions• Maintain clean, organized work areas throughout the event• Communicate effectively with captains, chefs, event managers, and teammates• Provide polished guest service while representing The Party Staff professionally• Follow uniform, safety, and company policy requirements
Qualifications
• Prior banquet serving experience strongly preferred• Ability to safely carry oval trays during service required• Professional hospitality demeanor and strong guest service skills• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays• Reliable transportation to assignments throughout North County San Diego• Professional service attire required (typically black bistro uniform, non-slip shoes)• Ability to work legally in the United States
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (6 to 10 hours)• Ability to lift and carry trays and equipment up to approximately 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation• Ability to bend, reach, and move quickly in busy event environments
Work Environment
• Hotels, banquet halls, catering venues, private events, and corporate functions• Fast-paced event service environments with structured timelines• Flexible on-call scheduling through mobile staff portal
Compensation
Hourly pay range: $19.00 to $21.00 per hour depending on experience, client assignment, and event type.
