Job Title: Assistant Clinical Director Role

BALANCE eating disorder treatment center, a premium treatment center in Manhattan, is seeking a highly motivated, passionate Lead Program Therapist to join our expanding team!

The Position

This is a full-time position. The Assistant Clinical Director is a vital role and integral to the successful management of our programs. The Assistant Clinical Director provides direction and supervision to the entire clinical staff as well as running multiple groups in PHP and IOP, and case management. The Assistant Clinical Director assists with oversight of clinical documentation and Utilization Review matters. He/she ensures that best practices are followed, both for clinical treatments and program management, in accordance with company policies and NYS requirements. The Assistant Clinical Director consults with all departments on an as-needed basis to ensure the healthy functioning of the program and clinical treatment of its clients. The Assistant Clinical Director needs to be a licensed clinician (PsyD, LMFT, LCSW, LPC, etc.) in New York State.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Direct Clinical Work

  • Run multiple groups in our PHP (CBT, DBT, Process, Closure, Meals, etc.)
  • Case Manage clients in our PHP. 

 

Programming and Schedule

  • Assist Clinical Director with overseeing and planning all client care, including PHP and IOP schedules for groups, clients and clinical team.
  • Assist in constantly improve the programming integrity of PHP, IOP and all groups at BALANCE using client feedback, staff analysis, and evolving research on best practices.

  • Conduct, review, and troubleshoot clinical issues as they arise, including providing crisis interventions.

 

  • Coordinate clinical staff through creating and managing schedules, time off requests, sick coverage and conducting employee evaluations for entire clinical team.
  •  Ensure that client records are up to date in both our electronic database and files.

  • Consult and collaborate with our psychiatrist and clinical supervisor.

  • Monitor compliance and legal guidelines, while ensuring adherence to company quality standards of service and growth.
  • Ensure adherence to health code policies and licensing regulations. Provides oversight of any/all audits as necessary.

  • Identify, propose and implement process improvements as appropriate.

 

 

Intakes, Orientation, Retention Rates, Step Down

  • Support and collaborate with Admissions Team in securing new clients in our programs.
  • Serve as positive role model to clinical staff, employees, clients and guests by maintaining a positive, caring and professional attitude.
  • Work with team in case management to increase adherence to clinical recommendations and provide a favorable outcome for the client.
  • Have a working knowledge of step-down plans, step-down rates, discharge rates and work on improving them.
  • Assist in admissions to increase census.

 

Internship Program

  • Organize and maintain an ongoing internship program at BALANCE.

 

Who You Are:

 

  • 5+ years’ experience treating eating disorders as a primary diagnosis.
  •  Experience in clinical program development and program management.
  • PsyD, PhD, LMSW, LCSW, LMHC license is required.
  • Good understanding of budget and resource planning, as well as evaluation procedures and methods.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant mental health regulations. 
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • A passion for working with clients with eating disorders.
